Dr. Juan co-created and hosted the remarkable TV show Strange Medicine, which focused on alternative therapies. The show aired on Fusion, a new channel powered by ABC TV in tandem with Univision, and was picked up by Delta Airlines as part of its in-flight entertainment. The Spanish version of the show, Medicina Desconocida, aired on Univision, Unimas, and Galavision.
In August of 2016 Penguin Random House published Dr. Juan’s first book, Mejora Tu Salud De Poquito a Poco, which became an instantaneous bestseller, currently in its fifth printing. His highly anticipated new book, Santo Remedio, features remarkable insights on home remedies, and is set for release by Penguin Random House July 27th. Dr. Juan has a monthly column in People en Español, has published extensively in the area of cardiovascular prevention, and serves as a reviewer for most of the major peer-reviewed scientific cardiology journals.
A powerful and intelligent communicator, Dr. Juan co-hosted Cita con tu Salud, a weekly 30-minute health news show on Univision. He has made appearances on Telemundo’s national shows, Al Rojo Vivo and Noticiero Telemundo, as well as
on Primer Impacto, Despierta America, Noticiero Univision, and Al Punto. He has been a frequent guest on multiple Spanish radio programs catering to U.S.-Hispanic audiences, and does regular radio segments each month in Miami, Los Angeles, and New York.
Dr. Juan is the creator of Reto 28, a weight loss event that became the most successful community initiative in Univision history, helping 400,000 individuals lose more than one million pounds in one month. He was awarded the Health Leadership Award by the National Hispanic Medical Association for the help he provides throughout the Latino community.
